The good old days of Android

Remember the good old days? An update to the nexus 1 would surface as an OTA, an hour later devs would fall over each other creating zip files to flash using recovery.

Yesterday a critical OTA got sent to the Nexus-s and nexus 1, and still nothing.

These days it seems all the known devs joined team douche and are working on a huge masterpiece also known as CM7, but what about the little things?

Don't get me wrong, they don't owe us anything, and I appreciate them immensely, but some of the urgency and excitement is gone. we need less webcasts and podcasts and a little more help if you can.
