Playstation 3 first impressions and comparison to the xbox 360

After using xbox 360 for over a year I decided it was time to own a PS3, I got the new slim one and as a machine it is quite impressive and the added bonus of having a blue Ray player is great. OK now for first impressions:

pros:

1. Blue Ray rocks
2. Games are more easy to get here than xbox ones.
3. It is quiet and not too hot so the electric bill is lower than my over heating xbox.
4. Built in wifi is much better than the expensive xbox add on.
5. Built in web browser is also a bonus compared to the xbox.
6. 1080p just looks better on the Sony although there is no technical reason why.
7. Older titles seem a bit cheaper although I only checked 3 stores.

Cons:

1. Seems there are less games and even less PS3 exclusives.
2. Killzone is nowhere near gears of war, both on second version.
3. Trophies are less rewarding than achievements and the whole presentation of them is
far less than the ms one.
4. Web browser is slow and not really tv friendly.
5. No Facebook, Twitter support yet.
6. Either I could not find it or there is no way to install games to hard drive, which will
put a strain on the cd drive.
7. Playstation store/market is not available, here not even in limited form. So no “inside
the game” shows and reviews to watch like in xbox land.
8. The dual shock joystick is small and firing with R1 button is much less trigger like than R2.
9. Killzone 2 is impressive but the console had to buffer way too many times holding
game-play and I was not happy, also no permanent crouching was the most annoying feature
on FPS ever.
10. The battery should recharge even if the console is off or give us a much longer cable.

For now the Xbos looks better to me on most game level and the sony looks better as a player with the blue ray advantage, I will revisit this issues in a month to see if my feelings have changed.
