Zune HD review - the greatest Gadget we don't really need

Microsoft finally finally released its long anticipated PMP(Personal media player)the Zune HD.
It is very impressive, from its capacitive gorgeous screen, great sound quality and great design.
The only problem is that no one really needs another one function device, the Zune pass is great but I don't want to carry 3 devices in my pocket, but before I get into that lets talk about the few cool things about the zune:

1. You can sync it with your desktop via wifi so no need for awkward cables.
2. HD radio in selective markets is very high quality
3. Zune pass lets you stream music from the service with no need to buy each cd.
4. Beautiful user interface and design.
5. Tegra cheap means it is very fast and low on energy need, good battery and good for the
environment.
6. Plays 720p videos through a dock to your home theater system or TV.

Those are all nice and cool(especially the wifi sync), but seriously it feels Microsoft is holding back on what it really should be doing, which is to go ahead against the Iphone with a ZunePhone, all the functions in one beautiful zune device.
I don't know if they are waiting for windows mobile 7 to finish development or trying to find the perfect hardware to leave the Iphone in the dust but they are just not into the real game so far.

No one really wants another Wimo device with a Zune application as rumors seem to indicate is on the way, we need Apple and Microsoft to clash head on with the best mobile devices ever made and we as consumers will be the true winners.
So Microsoft come on already, even if the first one will not be perfect, at least get in the ring and stop hiding behind HTC and others. We know you have the money and the vision as we can see in the Zune HD to put up a true Iphone killer and make apple have to fight for the crown.

In conclusion: It is really a great gadget but we need it to be much more, convergence is the name of the game, if you have to use a blackberry for work, or you are buying an mp3 player for your kid that you don't want him with a mobile phone for now, The Zune HD is a great choice on the same level as the Ipod touch and the choice is really between the Appstore games and utilities and the zune pass for music subscription service.
